Welcome to the BWKS Association

We are an organisation based in the south-east of England with close connections to like-minded groups across the UK and Ireland.  We train the traditional Japanese style of Wado-Ryu Karate which incorporates four major influences.  These are Okinawan Karate (striking, kata, basics), Shindo Yoshin-Ryu Jujutsu (evasion, throws, joint locks), Japanese Budo Philosophy (harmony, efficiency) and Kenjutsu Principles (timing, angles and decisiveness).

We aim to foster health and fitness, self-discipline and confidence. Our mission is also to engender a spirit of self-improvement and camaraderie in every class whilst we teach traditional Wado-Ryu.

We welcome interest from any potential new students, either beginners or those returning to training after a break.
